Overview
You may want to add an SSL certificate to your Kayako Classic OnDemand default domain (e.g., brewfictus.kayako.com) in order to use HTTPS. This article covers information that answers this query.
Information
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology protects online transactions and helps increase trust in your Web site.
If you are using a default Kayako Classic OnDemand domain such as 'brewfictus.kayako.com' or any sub-domains, then you don't need to purchase your own SSL because these domains are protected by a “wildcard” SSL certificate. You only need to purchase an SSL certificate for your Kayako Classic custom domain (e.g., brewfictus.mycompany.com).
However, default Kayako Classic OnDemand domains are not HTTPS or SSL enabled by default. Hence, if you want to have this enabled for your domain, you need to send a request to the support team to get this done.
- Click the Submit a ticket button at the top or at the bottom of this page. If you already have an open ticket with us for this issue, then skip this step (use the existing ticket).
-
Provide your domain name (e.g., domain.kayako.com).
The support team will forward your request to the SaaS Ops team for processing.

For support agents, if you receive this request from a customer, follow the process from the Submitting SaaS Requests for Enabling HTTPS Forceful Redirection article.

Additionally, note that if requested we can redirect from your old helpserve.com domain to the new kayako.com domain temporarily (for about a month). After that, your users should be visiting the new kayako.com domain directly.

If there is a request to move from helpserve.com to kayako.com, one can use the Rename Kayako Classic Instance PRF, and enter any additional details on the summary such as the need to set a temporary redirection after the change.
